Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown (Revelation 3:11 NKJV).
Do you have a firm grip on eternity?
To better understand this context, we must remember how Jacob wrestled with God and refused to let go until he received a blessing (Genesis 32). God then blessed him and changed his name to Israel. In today’s reading, Hosea lamented that Israel has stopped clinging to God. The prophet calls his people to return to their God. For this reason, Hosea pens, “So you, by the help of your God, return; observe mercy and justice, and wait on your God continually” (Hosea 12:6 NKJV).
Are you holding tightly to God and His promises, or have distractions loosened your grip? Strengthen your grip on God today through focused prayer and reflection.
Employment Point: Hold fast to Jesus and labor for His eternal rewards.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
