Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

DAY 301 OF 365

Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture! (Jeremiah 23:1 NKJV).

Whose feet are you sitting at?

In today’s reading, many people followed false prophets, straying from God’s truth. They chose not to sit at the feet of holy men but instead filled their minds with the lies of false teachers. In contrast, Paul urged Pastor Timothy to be diligent in rightly handling the Word of God (2 Timothy 2:15).

Who are you learning from, and whose teachings are shaping your life? Ensure you are sitting under the guidance of those who faithfully and accurately teach Scripture.

Employment Point: Receive systematic biblical instruction from those who regularly sit at Jesus’ feet.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
