Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12 NKJV).
How good are you with the arithmetic of life?
Psalm 90 reveals Moses' intense reflection on God's eternal nature, contrasted with human frailty, highlighting life's briefness. Recognizing this, Paul urges "see then that you walk circumspectly...redeeming the time, because the days are evil " (Ephesians 5:16 NKJV). This dual message highlights the urgency of living wisely and purposefully. Life is short, a fleeting moment in the scope of eternity. Therefore, each day is an opportunity to align our actions with God's will, investing our time in what truly matters—loving God, serving others, and proclaiming the gospel.
Today, let us all remember the eternal perspective Moses presents. Seek wisdom from God to make decisions that honor Him, prioritize relationships, and activities that have eternal significance. In doing so, we fulfill Paul's call to make the most of every opportunity.
Employment Point: Serve God diligently while you can because life passes quickly.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
