Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

DAY 222 OF 365

I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever; with my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations (Psalm 89:1 NKJV).

How reliable are the promises of God?

God promises David an eternal house, throne, and kingdom (2 Samuel 7:12–16). Psalm 89:4 confirms this promise to David. Although the nation of Israel rejected their Messiah, He will again nationally work with them in the future (Romans 11).

However, the Lord will be saving individual souls in the interim, whether Jews or Gentiles. Paul confirms this, stating God’s promises extend to all who call on Him: “For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For ‘whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved’” (Romans 10:12–13 NKJV). Search the Scriptures and see that God’s word is trustworthy, fulfilling His promises across generations.

Trust in God's unwavering faithfulness, as demonstrated through His promise to David and its fulfillment in Christ. His promises extend to all who call on Him.

Employment Point: Proclaim God’s faithfulness to all generations because His Word is trustworthy, and the gospel of Jesus Christ should be heralded to Jew and Gentile alike.
