Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

DAY 206 OF 365

Your throne, O God, is forever and ever (Psalm 45:6 NKJV).

Who is sitting on the throne of your heart?

Psalm 45 beautifully portrays the majesty of God's eternal throne. Likewise, Revelation 4 depicts God the Father on His throne, worshiped by the heavenly choir, affirming His sovereignty. Hebrews 1:8 (NKJV) reveals the Father addressing the Son, saying, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever,” highlighting the eternal reign of Jesus. Jesus Himself claims equality with the Father, declaring, “I and My Father are one” (John 10:30 NKJV). This knowledge of God’s eternal rule should remind us to let Him reign in our hearts.

Take a moment and reflect on areas of your life where personal desires have taken precedence and surrender them to God’s authority. Both the Father and the Son are worthy to govern our lives. Let’s bow down and give them the rightful place on the throne of our hearts.

Employment Point: Offer God the Father and God the Son the throne of your heart.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
