Lessons From Christ’s Final WeekSample

Christ's Surrender to the Father's Will
Jesus beautifully illustrates the imagery of a kernel of wheat to demonstrate the principle of death that leads to multiplied life. To grow, a seed must fall, its outer shell breaking, and it seems as though it has died. It is not unto destruction, but brings forth transformation. That single seed now yields a harvest far greater than itself. Just as the seed's death brings forth new life, so too, Jesus' sacrifice in surrender to the Father's will, excruciating as it was, brought forth a harvest. He paved the way for countless souls to enter the Kingdom of God. How good is our Father, who uses what appears as loss to create immeasurable gain, not only in eternity, but today in our lives.
Prayer: Abba Father, please grant me the strength to surrender my will to Yours, no matter the cost, just as Jesus did. Help me to trust in Your perfect plan and to glorify Your name. May my life be a seed that is sown into the ground to produce much fruit for Your kingdom. Amen.
Personal Reflection
- Where do I sense an invitation to surrender—places of pain, loss, or struggle where God is calling me to trust Him?
- Prayerfully reflect on how the Lord is bringing new life to those places. Ask Him to show you more. Write your reflections.
