Abraham’s Big Test from Genesis 15:1-6; 21:1-7; 22:1-19

Note to the parents:

This story may be understandably scary for some children. Keep the focus on what we learn from the story: God wants us to trust Him. He will always provide for us.

Help your child recall the story by asking simple questions about what happened.

Examples:

• What did Sarah and Abraham name their son?
• Who called out just in time to stop Abraham?
• What did God provide for the sacrifice?

Together, think about what you have learned. Invite your child to ask you the question.
Encourage them to add their thoughts or fill in a blank when prompted.

What did we learn about GOD?

• God gives us exactly what we need in His perfect timing.
• We can trust Him completely, even when it is hard or scary.

What did we learn about PEOPLE?

• People can choose if they trust God a little or a lot.
• When we face something really big and scary, our trust in God needs to be really big, too.
