Bible App for Kids – Discover God’s Big Story

DAY 2 OF 30

TODAY’S STORY

The First Sin from Genesis 3:1-24

Note to the parents:

In this story, children are introduced to some hard concepts: sin, disobedience, deception, shame, and consequences. It’s okay if they don’t understand it all. Understanding begins with exposure, and exposure can start with this story.

Help your child recall the story by asking simple questions about what happened.

Examples:

  • Who made the beautiful garden where Adam and Eve lived?
  • What did the snake tell Eve to do? Did she do it?
  • When they ate the fruit that God told them not to eat, what did Adam and Eve feel?

Together, think about what you have learned. Invite your child to ask you the question. Encourage them to add their thoughts or fill in a blank when prompted.

What did we learn about GOD?

  • God is good and He gives good gifts, like the amazing garden that He made for Adam and Eve.
  • God tells us how to obey Him in the Bible. (God also uses Mom and Dad to teach us obedience.)

What did we learn about PEOPLE?

  • People can decide if they want to obey God.
  • When we don’t obey God, it is called sin. Sin hurts us, makes our lives harder, and separates us from God.

What do you want to say to God after reading this story? (Prayer)

Let’s pray together.

God,
Thank You for being good to me.
(Name some ways that God is good to you.)
Help me to obey You.
(Name ways to obey.)
Amen.

Build anticipation for tomorrow:

Tomorrow we’ll watch another story together, okay? I like Bible storytime with you.
