30 Days With the PsalmsSample

Creation shows us how great God is

“The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above proclaims His handiwork” (Psalm 19:1 ESV).

Have you ever looked up at a clear night sky? Have you ever studied the drifting clouds on a summer day? Today’s verse tells us the heavens and the sky are God’s handiwork. They declare the glory of their Creator.
When you realize how vast the universe is, and how many, many stars and planets there are, you get a glimpse of God’s greatness. He made the earth, He created us humans, but He made much more. Actually, we have no idea how great His creation really is.
This wonder of nature fills us with awe and amazement. The universe is not just a randomly developed, chaotic place. It is carefully planned and made, and it reflects God’s order and wisdom.
And yet… even the heavens and the sky are damaged by humanity’s sin. All creation is. Therefore, God will create new heavens and a new earth (see Isaiah 65). Are you longing for this day, when God’s glory will be revealed fully and perfectly?
