30 Days With the Psalms

DAY 16 OF 30

Living with God

“You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy” (Psalm 16:11 ESV).

The Bible compares life with walking. People choose a certain path in life that they follow. They have a goal they try to reach.

David chooses to walk on the path of life. And since he knows that “life” is closely connected to God, he asks God for advice. That is a very wise thing to do–something you should do as well. God knows which path is best for you. He oversees life far better than you do and is a very wise and trustworthy guide.

Living closely to God gives us “fullness of joy”, as David has experienced. Serving God is not a dull life with thousands of regulations, stripped of all fun. On the contrary; it is a life filled with joy! And it leads to eternal life–a life of fullness, a life without end, a life with God. Like we read in John 17:3 (ESV): “This is eternal life, that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ Whom You have sent.”

Do you already walk on this path of life, with God as your guide? What are your experiences thus far?
