21 Days of Prayer; a Devotion on JohnSample

John 21 | Infinite libraries cannot contain him
There have been approximately 170 million books ever written in human history. 2.2 million books are published each year. There have been around 13.5 billion Christians in the last 2,000 years. If, starting today, every single book published in the world was devoted to recording what Jesus has done in each Christian’s life, it would take 5,800 years to write those books, and that wouldn’t even be able to keep up with 2.7 million new Christians converting every single year. Jesus is the living Christ who is ever working, ever healing, and ever saving. He is weaving billions of miracles every single day in the lives of his people in an intricate tapestry of grace that will only be revealed at the end of all things. This is the wonder of the final lines of John’s Gospel - truly “Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.” That was true then, and it is true now.
