Why I BelieveSample

No. 9 - I believe as a result of the many amazing answers to my own prayers
James 5:16 (NIV) – “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
It is simply impossible that many of the things I have received from God, which I specifically prayed for, cannot be linked to those prayers. Some claim that prayer is merely a matter of luck, but I can attest that the more I pray, the more I experience what they call luck.
Millions testify that their answered prayers align with what Scripture promises about the outcome of prayer. Not all prayers are answered with a "yes" from God; however, this does not mean that He hasn't answered those prayers; it simply indicates that He often responds in His own time and in His own way.
I have had many supernatural experiences that I can only attribute to answers to prayers I have prayed. I cannot deny their reality. There is no logic in denying the truth of something if you have no personal experience or knowledge of a specific issue.
No. 10 - Believing in God is a choice, and it is by faith that we know Him
By faith, we believe, trust, and follow Him. When we read Hebrews 11:3, we see that the Bible states that it is by faith that we know that God created the universe. The rest of the chapter illustrates how the main characters mentioned in the Old Testament lived their lives by their “faith in God.”
The illusion exists that people who trust in science rely solely on rational evidence and logical conclusions while Christians rely on stubborn, irrational faith. This is simply not the truth. In its simplest form, science can only “prove” what it can ”measure, calculate, and weigh.” Science, for instance, has no mechanism for addressing metaphysical or philosophical questions. Science has no ability to answer questions about the existence of a spiritual reality.
All of us start with a faith statement—one that cannot be proven. Only after placing our faith in science can we gather "evidence" for its logic and what it can or cannot prove. Science cannot prove as many things as atheists, sceptics, and others might wish to believe. Only after we choose to believe in the Bible and place our faith in Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour, do we find evidence for the existence of God and His governance of the world. It is at this point that people discover that their experiences and factual scientific evidence correspond with what the Bible teaches.
