Why I BelieveSample

Why I believe
"Why I believe" is a highly relevant question today. This is mainly due to the fact that the teaching of biblical doctrine has faced increasing and significant neglect. Too often, when you ask people about the Trinity, the Cross, why Jesus came to earth, heaven and hell, or the nature of Jesus as God and the Holy Spirit, they struggle to provide meaningful and coherent answers.
If we do not understand what we believe, we will be unable to explain to others why we hold those beliefs.
The purpose of this reading plan is my personal testimony on some of the reasons why I believe. This is what I would share if asked. For other Christians, the reasons may vary.
This short reading plan does not cover the extensive topic of apologetics.
No. 1 - I choose to believe the Bible
2 Timothy 3:16 (NASB2020) – “All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial…”
Regardless of who you are, you must begin with a statement of faith. Every person first puts their faith in something or someone and builds their world around that fundamental choice. Buddhists have their texts, Hindus and Muslims have theirs, and many atheists claim that their beliefs are based on the latest scientific research. All of these are faith statements; everyone believes they possess the truth.
I choose to trust the Bible. What resonates with me when I read it is captured in John 7:46 (NIV): “No one ever spoke the way this man does.” In the Bible, I find God as a Father. It is the only book that reveals God as a Father and offers the sure hope of forgiveness for my sins. When I read the Bible, it resonates with the longings of my spirit, satisfies my reason, and explains my emotions. This book provides clear and meaningful guidelines for living. For example, in Exodus 20, God outlines ten moral laws for us to follow. History demonstrates that societies that disregard these moral codes inevitably disintegrate.

About this Plan
