God, Our Home!

DAY 1 OF 7

Day 1: God as the Creator of All Things

So… now what?

Camp is over. The worship, the games, the late-night lip sync battle, the moments with God—they were real, powerful, and unforgettable. But now you’re back home. And for some of you, home doesn’t feel the same. Maybe it’s filled with love and support. Maybe it’s chaotic, stressful, or even lonely. The truth is, everyone’s physical home looks different—but here’s what stays the same: God is your true home.

The same God who showed up for you at camp—the One who spoke to your heart, surrounded you with His presence, and showed up this weekend—He’s still with you. He hasn’t left. He’s not just the God of camp highs; He’s the God of your everyday life. And He’s calling you to stay close, to keep building your life on Him, and to remember: you are never alone when your foundation is in Him.

God, the Builder of Homes

Hebrews 3:4 reminds us that every house has a builder, but God is the builder of everything. This does not mean literal buildings, but actually our lives. Many of us have built our lives on things that won’t last – grades, sports, social media, popularity, approval from others, when the reality of this is none of these matters. When you build your life on God, you are building a foundation that will last. God doesn’t want a partial relationship only when you need Him, He wants the key to your heart. He created you with purpose, He built your life for a purpose.

Making God Your Home

What should home feel like? Safe, familiar, full of love? That’s what God offers you – not just a place to visit or a building to reside in, but a relationship to live in. Psalm 90:1 says it best; God is our true home. Not just right now, but for every generation before us and every one to come. He does not want your popularity, your grades, your achievements. Spoiler alert: none of that is being brought to heaven. He just wants you.

Application: Let’s come back to that question, “So, what now?” What needs to look different for you to allow God to be your home? Maybe you need to give up that addiction, or the unhealthy relationship.

As you navigate what’s next, pray with us: God, thank you for being our Home, for creating everything—including us. Help us fixate our eyes on you. Help us release what is standing between a relationship with you. Instead help us build my life on You alone. Be our safe place. Be our Home. Amen.
