Day 6: God’s Purpose in Every Building Project

Have you ever walked through a house where construction had just started? You see the concrete foundation and the wooden studs standing up from them, and you may be able to make out a room or two, but overall you have no idea what the house is supposed to look like. This is often what living a life with God feels like.

We have learned that God is building our lives, but oftentimes when we walk through the construction site of our lives, it is easy to doubt the process. When we see the framework, the heartbreak, the uncertainty, the things we don’t understand, we can easily be confused about why those things are there and what the end product is going to be.

God knows. He is the project manager of our lives. He has the plans, the blueprints. He knows where we are, and He sees the end product. Hebrews 3:4 tells us that “the one who built everything is God,” and He is building you. He doesn’t make mistakes, His timing is perfect, and He knows what He is doing. God is not just building your life to look great from the outside, He is shaping your heart, building your character, and changing you to become more like Jesus.
