God, Our Home!

DAY 4 OF 7

Day 4: God Builds Us Together as the Body of Christ

Have you ever watched a talented musician or athlete and thought to yourself, “Man, I wish I could do that”, or “Man, I wish I could be as good as them”? We’ve all had the desire to want to be like or be as talented or as popular as someone else. It can lead us to think we have nothing to offer or contribute, or wonder what we’re made for.

When we become followers of Jesus, we become God’s children. And as his sons and daughters, we each have been created with a purpose to fulfill. In 1 Corinthians, Paul compares the church (Christians) to a body with different parts and functions. If one part is not functioning, then the entire body struggles to function! We all have a part to play in the beautiful story of God restoring mankind back to Himself.

You have been uniquely made, uniquely gifted to display God’s glory to everyone around you. You don’t have to preach on stages or have millions of followers to make an impact for Jesus. You just have to be obedient to what God has called you to do and with what He’s given you.

Your story matters. Your life matters. You matter.

In the Kingdom of God, we’re all sinners in need of a Savior. In Jesus’ love, we have nothing to prove. You’ve been fearfully and wonderfully made.

God desires for each of us to know this. He is building us as “royal priests” so we may show His goodness and be a light in a dark world.

Application: What’s a gift or trait I have that can be used for God’s glory?

About this Plan

God, Our Home!

Throughout this six-day devotional, we will walk through what it looks like to allow God to be the builder of our lives and find a home in Him. We serve a God who loves us unconditionally and desires a relationship with us, not just because of what we do, but who He is. Join us as we talk through what it looks like to find our home in God!
