Living in Light of the End: A Call to Prayer, Love, and ServiceSample

Day 5: All for the Glory of God
Devotional:
1 Peter 4:11 (NIV) says, “If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.”
Peter closes this passage with a powerful reminder: the purpose of every gift, every act of service, and every word spoken is to glorify God. Living for God’s glory means our lives are not about our comfort, fame, or success, it’s about pointing others to Jesus in everything we do.
This shifts our perspective:
- When we speak, our words carry weight, they should reflect God’s truth and grace.
- When we serve, we don’t do it in our own strength, but in the strength God supplies.
- And when we live this way, our lives become an ongoing act of worship, drawing all attention back to Him.
To glorify God is to live in light of eternity, where the applause of heaven matters more than the approval of earth. We live, we speak, we serve, with His strength, for His praise, and to expand His Kingdom.
Reflection: Do my words, actions, and choices reflect God’s glory? What area of my life needs to shift so that Christ is magnified through me?
Prayer: God, I surrender every part of my life to You. May all that I say and do bring honor to Your Name. Strengthen me to live with boldness, humility, and eternal purpose.
