Living in Light of the End: A Call to Prayer, Love, and ServiceSample

Day 1: Living with Urgency
Devotional:
1 Peter 4:7 (NIV) says, “The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray.”
Peter opens this passage with urgency: the time is near when all things will end. For many, that thought may feel heavy or distant, but Scripture calls us to live every day as if eternity is one breath away. This isn’t a call to fear, it’s a call to clarity. A call to live with focused minds and self-control so that we can pray effectively. Prayer isn’t meant to be a last resort, but the very heartbeat of a life prepared for Christ’s return. And when we live with the end in mind, small annoyances lose their power, sin loses its grip, and distractions fall away.
Reflection: What in your life is clouding your mind or pulling your heart away from consistent, heartfelt prayer?
Prayer: Father, help me to live with clarity, to set aside every distraction, and to stay rooted in prayer, knowing that each day is a gift and an opportunity to walk closely with You.
