Ignite: 5 Days to Awaken the Fire of God Within YouSample

Rebuild the Altar for Fire
Verse:
“Then Elijah took twelve stones… and with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord.” —1 Kings 18:31-32 (NKJV)
Devotional:
Before the fire fell, the altar had to be rebuilt. The altar is the place of surrender, the place where heaven meets earth. God does not pour out His fire on disorder or half-hearted offerings. He is drawn to altars that are built with intentionality and humility.
Your altar may be broken down by disappointment, sin, or neglect. But God is not asking you to bring perfection—just pieces. Lay them down. Let the Holy Spirit fill the space between the stones. Rebuild the altar. And watch what happens when the fire comes.
Prayer:
Lord, I bring You the broken pieces. Help me rebuild the altar of my heart. Holy Spirit, prepare me for the fire that follows true surrender.
Reflection Questions:
1. What has caused your spiritual altar to break down?
2. What does rebuilding your altar look like in this season?
3. Are you willing to let fire fall on your sacrifice?
