A Child's Guide To: Jesus’ Love and Care

DAY 5 OF 6

Working Hard at Caring

When he saw the crowds, he felt sorry for them. They were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
Matthew 9:36 (CEV)

Jesus walked a lot. He went from town to town.

He talked a lot, too. He told people how much God loved them, and what he wanted them to do.

And he cared a whole lot! When he saw people lost or suffering, he felt sorry for them and took action to care for them. He made people who were sick or hurting well again. He even gave his life for them and us!

And even though he is in Heaven now, he still cares about all of us—including you! Through his Spirit, he still teaches and heals us. And he wants us to be like him in caring for others.

Sometimes it’s hard for us to care about others. We only want to take care of ourselves.

But when you see someone who is lost or needs help, be like Jesus. Let your heart feel compassion for them. And then do something to help them. This is one way we show God’s love and become more like Jesus.

Ask Jesus to help you help others today!

HERO TRAINING

Who can you help today? Who needs your kindness? Practice showing love and kindness each day this week.

GOD'S WONDERFUL WORLD

Ants walk a lot! Every month, the average ant walks over 100 miles on its little legs. (That’s like walking from New York City all the way to Philadelphia!)
