Plunging Into Life with Jesus

“If you try to save your life, you will lose it. But if you give it up for me, you will surely find it.”

Matthew 10:39 (CEV)

You know the fun of jumping into a pool? It might seem scary, but to feel that big splash, you must bravely take the plunge!

Life is like that. We must choose whether we are going to do what’s comfortable and live for ourselves or bravely follow Jesus. Jesus told people they had to lose their lives to find real life. That sounds weird, but Jesus was saying people must let go of living life their way and, instead, start obeying God.

That’s what Jesus did for us. He came from Heaven to Earth to save us. He lived in a way that made God happy, died on a cross for our sins, and then God brought him back to life!

If we give our lives to Jesus, God will take care of us now . . . and after we die. We might want to keep doing things like being selfish. But if we hold on to our ways, we will miss out on God’s good promises.

Jesus bravely gave his life for us and wants us to give ours to him. Will you live for Jesus today?
