The Biggest Love

Who do you know that loves you so much they would do anything for you—maybe even fight or die? You probably know a few people who love you that much.
But do you know God did just that for you? Jesus is God. When Jesus came to Earth, he knew he would have to die for us. He said he would, as today’s verse shows us.
It was hard for him. He could have run away; he could have told his Father he didn’t want to die for us. But Jesus stayed true to what he said he would do. He took the punishment for all our sins and willingly gave his life for us.
Thankfully, because Jesus is God, he came back from the dead! He showed his love for us all the way to death and back again.
HERO TRAINING
Sometimes we like to say, “I love you to the moon!” Because the moon is so far away from Earth, this just means the love is super big. Jesus loved us all the way to death and back again. Now that is a huge, huge love! As your parents to help you draw a picture of the Earth on a separate piece of paper. Next to it, draw the sun and the moon. As you do, remember that Jesus loves you to the moon… and so much more!
