A Child's Guide To: Jesus’ Love and CareSample

**Notice: This content includes sensitive themes that some readers may find difficult: Themes of loss, mourning, and death. Please take care as you read.
When I Feel Sad
Jesus started crying.
John 11:35 (CEV)
When we have to leave someone we love, we get sad.
Maybe you’ve had to move away from your best friend. Or you really miss your parent when they have to travel for work. Or maybe you don’t get to see your grandparents very much. Sometimes, people pass away and we never get to see them here on Earth again.
Did you know that Jesus feels sadness, too? Yes, the God of the whole Universe cries sometimes. When Jesus’s friend Lazarus died, Jesus was very sad. He missed his friend, and he hated to see his other friends crying.
Jesus understands the sadness we feel. When you have a bad day or when you are crying, you can know that you are not alone. Jesus has cried, too. He has been sad, too.
So, in those moments, you can pray to him and he will understand and hold you close to him.
HERO TRAINING
Jesus helps us feel better when we are sad. Sometimes he sends other people to give us hugs, too. Thank Jesus today for always being with you!
GOD'S WONDERFUL WORLD
Giraffes feel sadness, too. One baby giraffe, sadly, died, and his mom stayed by his side for four days. Other giraffes came to offer support by wrapping their necks around her neck, like a hug.
