Through the Word: Knowing God, Making Him KnownSample

The Woman at the Well: John 4:1-42
In this story, we see a woman encountering Jesus as she goes about her daily life. She’s been living in sin and is filled with shame. Yet, Jesus shows her that He knows everything about her, but instead of defining her by her past mistakes, He sees her for who He created her to be. He offers her a new life, inviting her to choose Him as her source of fulfillment. She receives His love, and she is so moved by it that she can’t help but go and tell everyone about Him, inviting them to experience the same love she has found. Even though she had a reputation for sin, she had met Jesus and pushed past her shame, fear, and embarrassment to share with her whole town how good Jesus is.
How do you respond to receiving God’s love? Do you keep it to yourself, or do you share it with others? God invites us to share His love with everyone. One of the best ways we can do this is by telling others about Jesus—the One who knows everything about us and yet still offers us eternal life with Him.
Take a moment to sit and meditate on what God has saved you from and the incredible love He has shown you. After a few moments, think about who in your life might need to encounter Jesus in the same way you have. Be intentional in sharing His love with them.
