BlindsidedSample

Too Many Thoughts in the Wrong Direction
Overthinking my blind sidedness can consume most of my days. It's exhausting, consuming, painful, and distracting from what GOD HAS FOR ME. The enemy loves it when I can't let go of an offense or a hurt.
Let's examine the ancient warriors of Scripture in their state of shock and see how they handled their situation. They were human just like us, and many of them are great to learn from.
Moses: He was quite blindsided to hear that it would be he that God would choose to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. He was so blindsided that he started making up the reasons why it couldn't be..."Who am I?" Then Moses tells God that they won't believe him or listen to his voice, and reminds God that he was slow in speech. God tells Moses that it is He (God) who will lead the children out of Egypt...Moses was simply the vessel that He would use to make it happen. (Ex. 4:1-17)
Moses overthought the task given to him by God. He bombarded God with questions, and God debunked all of Moses' excuses for why he should not undertake this daunting task.
I want to be more like Abraham when I think about the faith of old. We are not told any details about how Abraham might have felt when instructed to take his son, Isaac, and offer him up as a sacrifice on the altar. He didn't question God. He obeyed, trusting that God would provide what was needed at just the right time. When Isaac questioned where they would get a lamb for the offering, Abraham said, “God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.” Just before this, when Abraham saw the city from afar, he told the two young men who went with them, “Stay here with the donkey; my son and I will go over there and worship...and come again to you.” (Gen 22:1-19)
I believe Abe knew in his heart that as long as he obeyed God, God would make a way and his son would live. He believed God for Who He said He is. His shocking instruction became a miraculous testimony!
HE IS WHO HE SAYS HE IS. He'll do what He says He will do, and in His timing. He's faithful. No need to overthink the shocking! Allow Him to permeate your thoughts so that you can go in the right direction.

About this Plan

We have all been there at some point in life...blindsided by a loss, a person's actions/inaction, a situation, or circumstance. Any of these may prompt you to question many things you thought you knew and believed to be true. Nothing takes God by surprise. Let's learn and seek the lesson that God has for us in our states of shock.
