BlindsidedSample

How Did It Come To This?
Maybe you've been there, too. How in the world has this happened to me right now? What did I do to cause this? What do I do now? Where is God in all of this? How can I move forward beyond this? There is a tendency to question everything and everybody, even God Himself.
I can easily recall being in several different scenarios throughout my life. I have experienced betrayal (in a few different forms), divorce, loss of relationships, jobs, and death.
Jesus reminds us via Paul in Ephesians 2, that we were once dead in our sins and trespasses, but it was by grace that children of God are saved out of those sins, through faith. Because of what Jesus did for us, we are to walk in the workmanship of His Masterhood, showing proof of His good creation! (Eph. 2:1-10)
So when the blindsided act hits, if I can but remember that I have never been perfect, I have sinned against God personally myself, and that humans will "human" all day long every day...I may be able to gain a better understanding of how to approach the situation with less shock and lean more toward what God is trying to show me in it.
But let me just be real here. Being blindsided can hurt deeply. How did I manage my offenses, you might ask? First of all, I learned to step back away from what I am seeing/hearing/experiencing "in the now," and tell myself, "WAIT. Do NOT respond immediately. This does not require your response at this time. Let GOD take the wheel of control in what only He can handle."
Yes, sometimes a quick decision needs to be made when you're blindsided, but ask the Lord right away, "Is this for me to take hold of right now, or do I wait?" Then, listen for His still, small voice and obey it. The answer is almost always, "Wait." (Psa 27:14) Remember, nothing takes God by surprise. He sees all, knows all, and has the keys to the door that just slammed in your face.
A blindsided situation can knock the breath right out of you and leave you shocked, stunned, staring into space, unable to sleep, eat, or even speak. God tells us, however, that if we wait on Him, He will renew us and we will not faint. (Isa 40:31)
About this Plan

We have all been there at some point in life...blindsided by a loss, a person's actions/inaction, a situation, or circumstance. Any of these may prompt you to question many things you thought you knew and believed to be true. Nothing takes God by surprise. Let's learn and seek the lesson that God has for us in our states of shock.
