The Meaning of LifeSample

The meaning of life: The ultimate goal is a personal relationship with God
The ultimate meaning of life lies in a personal relationship with God. For the Christian, this relationship comes through the Lord Jesus Christ, who died in our place to pay the penalty for our sins. Through Him, we become reconciled with the Father and can have fellowship with God the Father.
Repentance and being born again put our lives on a new trajectory. It gives us eternal life, eternal relationships, and eternal destiny.
Out of this personal relationship with God, everything else flows. We start to see things that we could never see before. It is like cleaning a dirty window or pulling back the curtains so that we can see through them.
As Christians, we believe that God created us – we know where we come from. We know our origin.
We know that we are loved by God, and God is our Father. We are the family of God. We know our value because we know what God thinks about us.
We know that we were created with a purpose. We know that God has carefully and purposefully designed us to serve and help those who are in pain, living in darkness and brokenness.
We know that when we die, we will go to heaven and live for eternity with God.
Because of this, we want to glorify God and worship Him (1 Corinthians 10:31; Psalm 86:12). We want to do His will. We want to obey Him. We want to go into the whole world and tell people that Jesus died for them and wants to reconcile us to God – He has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
Because of all this, we want to be His disciples, His followers, who will go out into the world and tell people about the Most High God, worthy to be worshipped, loved, and glorified.
When people live lives that are governed by these realities, they find meaning. Even denying or neglecting one of these realities ensures that the quest for meaning disintegrates.
The world tries to build a meaningful life through human-centred values and various 'to-dos.' These values may feel good and may even be fulfilling for a time, but they do not provide deep-rooted joy and the sense of worth, meaning, and significance that can only be found in God.
To summarise: Without a permanent and eternal relationship with God as we find it in the Lord Jesus Christ, life can never make complete sense. As the Word of God says, "For in him we live and move and have our being" (Acts 17:28, NIV). Our hearts find rest when they rest in Jesus as our Creator and Sustainer of all things (John 1:1-3; Colossians 1:17).
