What Does Living Like Jesus Even Mean?Sample

Jesus lived out the Word through His actions. He loved others by serving them. He washed His friends' feet, cared for them, cooked for them, listened to them—all in community.
To serve others well, we need community. Jesus showed us how important it is to live in close connection with others. He wept with friends, broke bread around the table, fished with them, worked with them, mourned, encouraged, and prayed with them. He continually spoke of the Kingdom of God. He shared over 35 stories about God’s Word and the Kingdom to come.
I’ve been leading women’s Bible studies for about 15 years. I’ve seen the beauty that blooms when people gather around God’s Word. People who would never normally connect outside those study times become woven together into a strong, united community.
The disciples were different in background, personality, and opinion—some of them would never have connected without Jesus as their common bond. And yet, look what God did through their unity. They fulfilled their calling: to make disciples and teach the nations.
That’s our calling, too. And it starts by connecting with others who share the same desire.
Being in community, with the Word as our foundation, is how God designed us to flourish.
Sure, you can live isolated and alone. But that’s not how God created you. And that’s not how Jesus modeled it. Most of what we know about Jesus in the Gospels happens while He is with His people.
About this Plan

What does living like Jesus even mean? Just like the words of Christ, His actions and the way Christ lived is rich in teaching as well. In this devotional, we will study the characteristics of Jesus as a human here on earth, and the model of His ministry that shows us how to live as He did - body, mind and spirit.
