What Does Living Like Jesus Even Mean?Sample

Jesus knew, meditated on, and spoke Scripture. It was His foundation.
On my Israel tour, we visited several Old Testament sites, but Jerusalem brought me to tears. Early Jerusalem, the City of David, is deeply significant to God. So significant, in fact, that when Christ returns, He will make the city new and restore its foundation.
Over time, rulers built layers upon the old city of Jerusalem. As I walked the streets, I saw history stacked in stone. At one point, we entered a building and descended into a basement that led us to the Via Dolorosa—the street Jesus walked toward His crucifixion.
God laid the foundation of the holy city. He dwelled in it for a time. He left, and rulers overtook it. So He sent His Son back in the flesh to remind people what their foundation was. Then He died, and His blood spilled out over the city, just as it covers our sin.
God’s Word is our true foundation. Jesus didn’t abolish it; He built on it, sanctified it, declared it holy, and sealed it with His death.
What is your foundation?
We need to know God’s Word. It has to be the foundation we build on. We must be mentally fit in our journey, grounded in Scripture. How can we know God if we don’t know His Word? It’s like any relationship—you have to spend time to grow close.
Romans 10:17 says that faith comes from hearing the Word of Christ. When we don’t know God’s Word, we fall for the word of man. And the enemy will make sure of it.
Jesus lived by the Word and died for it—so we could live with it.
