RETURN to ME: Reading With the People of God #16

DAY 20 OF 31

Video Primer: Obadiah — by BibleProject

Today, as you prepare to read the book of Obadiah and Mark 11:1–11, take a few minutes to watch the BibleProject’s overview video on Obadiah. It’s a short, creative, and insightful guide to one of the most overlooked books in the Bible.

Obadiah may be small—just 21 verses—but it delivers a powerful message. It confronts the sin of pride and the danger of standing by while others suffer. But it doesn’t stop there. Obadiah ends with a surprising word of hope: God will one day bring justice, restore His people, and reign over all the nations.

Then in Mark, we see that hope beginning to take shape. Jesus enters Jerusalem on a donkey—humble, but full of authority. The true King has come, not to take power as the world does, but to lay down His life and establish a different kind of kingdom.

Watch the video. Read with expectation.
God is speaking through this tiny prophetic book and the triumphal entry of Jesus. One calls us to humility and justice; the other shows us the King who fulfills it all.

Don’t miss what God wants to say to you today.

About this Plan

RETURN to ME: Reading With the People of God #16

This 16th installment of our Reading with the People of God plan invites you into the voices of the Minor Prophets—Hosea through Nahum—calling God’s people to return with sincerity and trust. Paired with the Gospel of Mark, we’ll hear Christ’s invitation to repentance and renewed faith. Each day includes readings from Psalms, the Old Testament, and the New Testament, with a brief devotional primer. May these readings draw you nearer to the Lord, awaken your heart to His mercy, and echo His faithful call: “Return to Me.”
