God’s Little Oceanographer: A 5-Day Reading Plan for KidsSample

Day 2: Ocean Animals Give Praise
“Sharks hunt. Sailfish speed. Jellyfish drift.
Every creature worships the Lord. Join in the praise!”
Stand in Awe:
Have you heard of ocean zones? Most ocean creatures live in the sunlight zone (660 feet, 200 meters), the top layer of the ocean, because of its warmth. Dolphins jump here. Each dolphin has a unique whistle, just as you have your own unique voice.
Discuss:
The Bible says everything that moves in the ocean praises God. How can you use your voice to praise God today?
Prayer:
Dear God, You are an awesome God who created such wonderfully unique creatures. I praise You and love You. Amen.
About this Plan

Based on Tina Cho’s picture book, this reading plan will help kids appreciate God’s creation of the ocean and all the living creatures. Young oceanographers will understand that God's creation reflects His love for them. God's glory is revealed in the ocean and its content, but His children matter most. This plan can be done with kids and parents to foster curiosity about ocean science and to appreciate God’s handiwork and love.
