God’s Little Oceanographer: A 5-Day Reading Plan for KidsSample

Day 4: The Ocean and You
“The ocean connects you to God. As you listen to the thundering waves, think how powerful God shows His goodness to you.”
Stand in Awe:
Little oceanographer, you can have fun at the ocean playing on the beach, boating, bird-watching, whale-watching, or cleaning up the beach. God created the ocean for you to enjoy. God’s power is heard through the thundering waves.
Discuss:
Have you been to the ocean, or would you like to go there? What is your favorite ocean activity? What would you like to try?
Prayer:
God, You are a powerful and mighty God. Thank You for creating the ocean for me to enjoy. Amen.

About this Plan

Based on Tina Cho’s picture book, this reading plan will help kids appreciate God’s creation of the ocean and all the living creatures. Young oceanographers will understand that God's creation reflects His love for them. God's glory is revealed in the ocean and its content, but His children matter most. This plan can be done with kids and parents to foster curiosity about ocean science and to appreciate God’s handiwork and love.
