Hearing God When It Seems ImpossibleSample

I pray many questions have been answered for you throughout these last few days. I understand that there are times when God feels silent, and it can be frustrating. We long for direction, clarity, or even just a sign that He is near—but instead, we get silence. What do we do in those moments?
In those times, I want to remind you that God’s silence is not His absence. Sometimes, it’s a test of faith. Other times, it’s an invitation to seek Him more deeply. You see, the silence forces us to evaluate whether we love His voice more than we love Him. Are we pursuing Him for who He is, or only for what He can give?
The Bible shows us that even godly people experienced seasons where God seemed distant. We see that David cried out, “How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever?” (Psalm 13:1). Job felt abandoned. Even Jesus, on the cross, said, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Matthew 27:46). Yet in every case, God was still at work. His silence was not rejection—it was part of a greater plan.
When you don’t hear God, don’t pull away; instead, I want to encourage you to press in. Worship even when you don’t feel like it. Pray even when it seems like nothing is changing. Stay faithful. Those who seek Him with their whole heart will find Him. His silence is often a setup for deeper revelation.
Challenge: If you feel like God has been silent, spend extra time in prayer and worship today—not asking for anything, just resting in His presence.
Let's Pray:
Father, even when I don’t hear You, I trust You. I know that You are near, even when I don’t feel it. Strengthen my faith and give me perseverance to seek You, not just for answers, but for intimacy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
I hope this was a blessing. You can find more of my free content here.
About this Plan

Hearing God’s voice can feel difficult, especially in seasons of distraction, doubt, or silence. But as A.W. Tozer said, “It’s the nature of God to speak.” This 5-day reading plan will help you understand how God speaks and allow you to position yourself to hear Him more clearly.
