Hearing God When It Seems ImpossibleSample

Hearing God When It Seems Impossible

DAY 2 OF 5

Another important thing for us to always remember is that God’s voice never contradicts His Word. If you struggle to discern whether something is from God, the first question to ask is: Does it align with Scripture?

Jesus demonstrated this when He was tempted in the wilderness. Every time the enemy tried to deceive Him, Jesus responded with Scripture (Matthew 4:4). The more filled we are with the Word, the more we'll become familiar with His voice.

For example, if you receive a call from someone you know well, you don’t need to see their name to recognize the voice. Their tone and way of talking have become familiar enough for you to recognize. The same is true with God’s voice. The more we immerse ourselves in Scripture, the easier it becomes to recognize His voice when He speaks.

If you desire to hear God, make His Word your foundation. Read it, meditate on it, and store it in your heart. The Holy Spirit will remind you of His truth when you need it most (John 16:13-15).

Challenge: Read one chapter of Scripture today and ask God to highlight a verse that He wants to speak to you through.

Let's Pray:
Lord, I want to know Your voice, and I know that starts with knowing Your Word. Give me a hunger for Scripture, and let Your truth be the filter for everything I hear. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

About this Plan

Hearing God When It Seems Impossible

Hearing God’s voice can feel difficult, especially in seasons of distraction, doubt, or silence. But as A.W. Tozer said, “It’s the nature of God to speak.” This 5-day reading plan will help you understand how God speaks and allow you to position yourself to hear Him more clearly.
