"When" matters just as much as ""what"
Psalm 75 is the perfect sequel to Psalm 74. In Psalm 74 we saw man frustrated because God seemed to be slacking in His role as a just judge. The wicked were running roughshod all over the righteous. Now in Psalm 75, we see God telling man that He's going to judge justly, but it's going to be according to His timing.
God has a divine timetable for all things, and He's equally concerned with the "when" as He is with the "what." He will always do the right thing, but He's never going to deviate from His divine timetable, a timetable that's based on the reality that He knows absolutely everything there is to know.
We see a great example of this in Genesis 15 as God gives Abraham a sneak peek into his descendants' destiny. The Lord reveals that He would eventually give them possession of the Promised Land. However, it wouldn't take place for many years because the transgressions of the people currently living there was "not yet complete."
God is saying that there's another side of the coin that only He is aware of. It wasn't just about the Israelites, but also the Amorites. God knew something needed to happen on their end, as well. They had to be given an appropriate amount of time to prove their character (or lack thereof). So the "what" would happen, God would give Israel possession of the Promised Land. But "when" it would happen was going to be determined by God's timeline.
Sometimes we become so preoccupied with the "what" that we lose sight of the "when." God never loses sight of either. He does all things according to His infallible timeline, and it's a mistake to confuse His patient timing for inability.
All-knowing and eternal God, protect us from wanting things done according to our own timeline, and enable us to rest in Your plan.

Think about it... What does this passage reveal to me about God? What does this passage reveal to me about myself? Based on this, what changes do I need to make? What is my prayer for today?
