DAY 2 OF 5

WORTH THE PRAISE

Listen to “Worth The Praise.”

Think about where we came from. We were made to worship God, but we attempted to strip ourselves of that purpose and put ourselves in His place. We were broken by sin, separated from our creator, and unable to pull ourselves out of this rhythm of shame and death.

What happened next is still difficult to fathom. God didn’t just say He loved us; He showed us the greatest example of love ever known. He humbly came to earth, served the world, died in our place, and rose from the dead so that we might be saved.

This leads to the question we must each wrestle with: How will I respond?

Our human nature is constantly looking for the path of least resistance. We ask, “How do I get the most that I can for the least amount of work or sacrifice?” This distorted perspective emboldens us to try to make deals with God or negotiate the stakes. Our response to God can become partial or fragmented, when our only appropriate response is everything.

Everything? Yes, everything. All of us, not just the parts we deem easy to relinquish control of. But this is not something He strictly wants from us; it’s something He wants for us.

Scripture tells us that He is our fortress. He is our rock and our salvation. We can find safety in Him. Imagine being alone in the wilderness with no chance of survival and finding refuge like that. That wouldn’t be a place you’d visit occasionally; it would be the place you fully commit to becoming your home. You’d be all in. We don’t deserve this kind of mercy, nor could we earn it. So, we hold nothing back.

Because of His character and what He’s done for us, Jesus is worthy of our uninhibited and unconditional praise.

This praise is more than just a song. It’s a continual acknowledgment that He is good and He is kind, so He is first in everything we do. There’s a choice to be made. And today we choose to worship Him with our lives, for He is worth the praise.

Reflect and Journal
• How has Jesus changed my life?
• As I respond to His love, is there anything I’m holding back?

About this Plan

The Way

This Bible Plan accompanies the album “The Way” from Life.Church Worship, a ministry of Life.Church. In this five-day devotional, we’ll explore afresh how Jesus is the Way—which leads us into a posture of gratitude, praise, and declaration of our redemption in Him.
