The Lion of Love

God is a lion—big, powerful, even a little scary. His strength roars through creation, and His standards are sky-high, pure and unshakable. Yet, He’s also the Lamb, overflowing with love, drawing us close. This blend of might and mercy is what makes the Triune God so unique. As a lion, He sets the bar high, calling us to live boldly and righteously. As a loving Father, He meets us where we are and draws us near. He speaks to us in quiet moments, He teaches us when we are close. Is this how we teach our children?

Earthly fathers can reflect The Fathers strength by:

1. Standing up for what is right
2. Believing in better no matter what
3. Holding a high standard
4. Setting the moral compass
5. Leaning into hard things and having hard conversations

But like our heavenly father, these things are always best done in close and personal, side-by-side — outside of the heat of the moment, where we can be close and attentive. Where we can hear their heart and lead with love.

Remember, our Father in Heaven hears us, and this makes us feel loved. It's true for everyone; if our children aren't feeling heard — then they are not feeling loved. Consider the way God loves you, how He hears you. How can you mirror His strength and care in your life and leadership at home?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, You are the Lion—mighty and holy—and yet so loving. Thank You for holding me to high standards, but in close and personal. Help me to do that with my children too. Help me to reflect you. Amen.
