THE BIG AND SMALL

Our God is a big God who concerns himself with even the smallest of things. There is nothing so small that our God does not care for it. There is nothing too big our God cannot handle. He is the God that owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10). He is the God that takes care of the lilies and sparrows (Matthew 6:25-34). He is the God that created wild and mighty beasts (Job 40-41), and He is the God who acknowledges something so small as the mustard seed (Matt. 17:20).

Just like the things we find in nature, there is nothing too big or too small in our hearts that God cannot take care of. He is mighty and able to take care of all creation, the entire universe, and still concern Himself with the cares of your heart (Psalm 8:4). There is no sin too great that God cannot forgive it through repentance. There is no pain, trauma, or hurt that is too big for God to heal. There is no fear or darkness that God’s perfect love cannot cast out. He knows how to take care of the big things.

No concern or care of ours is insignificant to God, because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:6-7). He loves us so much, and He cares about the little things. He cares about how we’re feeling, our opinions, what our favorite color is, whether we like coffee or tea – everything! He cares about you because He created you, and He wants to share the world with you.

PRAYER

Father, You are mighty to keep track of the entire universe, yet You are mindful of me and the cares on my heart. Thank You for caring for me. I cast every care unto You and trust You with every part of my heart, big and small. Amen.

APPLICATION

Go outside at night, look at the moon and stars. Though they seem small, imagine how big they are. Then look at the blades of grass on the ground and how small they are. Remember that God cares for all of it.
