The Coming of the Son of Man

Preparation is part of life. Whether it’s writing to-do lists, planning meals, or rehearsing for a big event, we prepare to bring order, clarity, and peace to our days. But the most important preparation of all is for the return of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Himself said, “Then everyone will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud with power and great glory” (Luke 21:27, NLT). His return will not be hidden or quiet—it will be magnificent, undeniable, and filled with glory. But what is glory? It’s a word we often hear in church, yet it can feel distant in daily life. The Bible describes it as the radiant beauty, power, and majesty of God.

Even now, glimpses of His glory are all around us. The vastness of the night sky, the crashing of ocean waves, the quiet splendour of a sunrise—each reflects a mere fraction of His magnificence. But when Jesus returns, we won’t just see reflections. We will behold Him in His fullness, reigning in power over a kingdom that will never be destroyed (Daniel 7:13-14).

Just as He ascended into heaven in a cloud, He will return in the same way (Acts 1:11). His promise is sure, and our calling is to be ready—not with fear, but with joyful anticipation. Until that day, we continue to trust, to persevere, and to seek His presence in the here and now.

Jesus is coming again. May we prepare our hearts, stand firm in faith, and watch for His glory on display—even today.
