A Living HopeSample

DAY 36
Easter Monday
The tomb was empty. The women had seen the angel, had heard the good news with their own ears: “He is not here. He has risen, just as He said” (Matthew 28:6). They ran, their hearts pounding, still gripped with wonder and fear. And then—Jesus met them on the road.
“Greetings!” He said (v. 9).
Can you imagine the joy? The relief? The overwhelming love that must have filled them in that moment? They had come to mourn a dead man. Instead, they fell at the feet of their risen Saviour.
Jesus had conquered death. But His work was not finished. The resurrection wasn’t the end of the story—it was the beginning. Soon, He would appear to His disciples, speak peace over their troubled hearts, and send them out into the world (John 20:21). Soon, they would be filled with the Holy Spirit and proclaim the good news to every nation.
And soon, the church would begin.
We live in the light of that victory. The resurrection wasn’t just for them—it’s for us. Because Jesus lives, we have a living hope. Because He rose, we are raised to new life with Him (1 Peter 1:3). And because He reigns, we can face tomorrow with confidence, knowing that our inheritance is secure, our salvation is certain, and our King is coming again (vv. 4-5).
So as Easter Sunday fades into Monday, let’s not leave the wonder behind. Let’s carry it with us. The resurrection isn’t just one day—it’s the reality we walk in every day. Jesus is alive. And that changes everything.
About this Plan

Jesus’ resurrection is more than an event in history—it is the foundation of our living hope. As we journey through this Easter devotional, we will link prophecy to fulfilment, tracing how Christ’s life, death, and resurrection were foretold and fulfilled. Let us stand in awe of our risen Saviour, who not only conquered death but offers us new life, firm faith, and an eternal inheritance that can never be shaken.
