King & KingdomsSample

David was no stranger to fear and betrayal. While running for his life from King Saul, David penned the words of Psalm 34. In verses 17-18, David describes God as One who hears the cries of the righteous and is near those who are brokenhearted. In Jesus' famous Sermon on the Mount, he describes those who are poor in spirit as blessed (Matthew 5:3) for the Kingdom of God is theirs. Whether you are broken over your own sin or the sin of others, rest in the reality that God is near those who are brokenhearted. If you are in Christ, your righteousness is not of your own doing, but is Jesus' righteousness imputed to you-- and this is good, good news!
Think it Over: Do you believe that God is near you? Do you believe that He hears you? Sit and rest in His presence today knowing that you are loved, heard, and seen by God.
