King & KingdomsSample

Joy. As ironic as it is, this word is something that can feel very far from us most days. The moment we turn on our phones, we are bombarded with bad news and reasons to not have joy. But... that is the cool thing about the Gospel. In the midst of tradegy, we who are in Christ can REJOICE! David asks the Lord to restore the joy of salvation within him amidst one of the most tragic and horrifying moments of his life. What is the joy of salvation? That we have been saved and reconciled to God through Jesus! Though David was born long before Jesus' incarnation, David clung to the hope of a coming Messiah (Jesus) who would save God's people and make all bad things untrue. This Messiah that David waited for was Jesus.
Think it Over: Where could you use more of God's joy in your life?
