The Gospel of MarkSample

Jesus Predicts His Death and Resurrection (Mark 10:32-34)
In Mark 10:32-34 (also written about in Matthew 20:17-19 and Luke 18:31-34), Jesus tells the disciples that He's going to die soon but He will come back to life. This is the third time in the gospels Jesus has shared with them that He will be put to death. Of the three explicit predictions, this is the most detailed, specifically mentioning that He would be mocked. The whole matter of Christ’s death and resurrection was not grasped by the twelve. They may have been enamored by other ideas about what the Messiah rule would be. As we will see in the next section of this chapter.
How does Jesus' clear prediction of His death impact our understanding of His mission, and how can this knowledge influence our own commitment to following Him?
