Jesus spoke in parables so that everyday people were able to hear his message (v33). There were also some who he knew would reject his message - the religious elites. He “hid” his message in plain sight by using analogies that regular people would understand like seeds, lamps, baskets, but that the religious leaders were, in their eyes, too holy for.
