Have you ever wondered if your parents were holding out on you? Maybe you went to a friend's house and saw how another family lived; maybe it seemed like they had more freedom than you, getting to watch movies or play video games that you could not. Perhaps you began to wonder how many things you're missing out on because your parents have so many rules. When you feel that way, it can make you second guess what you know about your parents.

For Adam and Eve, when the serpent asked what God really said, he made them wonder if God was holding out on them. He wanted them to doubt what they knew about God. Ultimately, it was this thought that opened the door to sin.
