This little section ends with washing the remaining parts of the sacrifice and then burning it all up on the altar. In so many ways, this is a little picture of our lives. We're washed clean by Jesus when we put our faith in him, and at the same time, we're giving our entire selves to God. Think about it like this: Paul tells us to present our bodies as living sacrifices (Romans 12:1). He didn't just mean our physical bodies; he meant our whole lives were a sacrifice to God. We put ourselves on the altar and say, "God, I want you to use me however you want. My whole life is yours to do with what you want because I am so in love with you".
Think it Over: What's hard about putting your whole self on the altar?
