REFLECT + FOCUS

When it comes to sin, there is definitely no need for pretense with God - He already knows everything about us much more than we could ever know about ourselves.

As we open up with God, He will confirm to us that He has forgiven us and washed us from all unrighteousness - as clean and white as Christ Himself.

However, God will also convict our hearts when we have sin issues that we need to confess to others; sometimes to a trusted brother, sometimes to the person we sinned against.

As uncomfortable as it is, confessing our sin, mistakes, weaknesses, fears, etc. out loud to one another is an essential part of the body of Christ, and often a key to being healed and free from habitual sin.

It might be humbling, and sometimes embarrassing, but His grace is enough to help us form and maintain deep, vulnerable relationships with other believers.
