REFLECT + FOCUS

One of the most important parts of the Bible is John chapter 13 to 17 - Jesus’ final words to the disciples before the cross.

These five chapters are rich with promises, and warnings, for those who follow Christ.

The most wonderful promise of all? His very own presence with us and in us: the Holy Spirit.

Listen to these promises:

• The Spirit of God will live with you and will be in you. John 14:17
• The Holy Spirit will teach you all things and will remind you of everything that Jesus has taught you. John 14:26
• The Spirit will testify about Jesus to you. John 15:26
• The Spirit of truth will guide you into all truth. He will tell you what is yet to come. John 16:13

The Spirit of God is the comforter, counselor, advocate, intercessor and strengthener.

We cannot do life without Him.

And Jesus promised us in Luke 11, if we ask, the Father will give us His Holy Spirit.

Let’s ask! I don’t know about you, but I need more of Him and all that He has promised.

Don’t just ask for his help or blessing - but ask for the Spirit Himself, His very presence to fill you up.

Your Father in heaven gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!
