REFLECT + FOCUS

Jesus said “love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” (Matthew 5:44 NIV)

How can we possibly do this? Without His love flowing through us - it is impossible! But His Spirit is in you - and the first mentioned “fruit of the Spirit” is love.

Jesus himself, looked down from the cross, on those who were killing Him, with love and compassion, and said: “Father, forgive them…” Luke 23:34 NIV

God wants us to allow the “water” of His love, to flow through the “pipe” of our lives to the people around us.

Do you have people around you who are difficult to love? Great! That is an opportunity for God to train you in how to allow His love to flow through you.

Actually, this has a lot to do with walking in freedom. Remaining angry, bitter, unforgiving, resentful, or even indifferent towards people actually keeps us as slaves to them, and slaves to sin.

But when we choose to allow the love of God to flow through us - even to our enemies - we actually begin to walk into freedom. We will begin to see people through His eyes, and our own hearts will be touched and softened by His love.

Right now, as you declare today’s shout, ask God for His perspective on any “difficult” people in your life. Allow God to flow His love through you as you pray blessings over their lives.
