Most of us have a hard time being corrected. It makes sense. Who wants to hear they are wrong about something? But none of us can get it right all the time. And so, the best thing we can do, instead of trying to go it alone and needing to be corrected after the fact, is to invite people into our decisions ahead of time. This is exactly what this proverb is talking about. When there are wise people we let speak into our lives, we will spend a lot less time trying to get a do-over and a lot more time trying to get it right the first time. This week, talk to a small group leader, parent, or coach, and invite them into your decision-making. This one decision might just change everything!
